Corporate Video Studio Setting Checklist

Written by Viva Studio Rentals Team

Crew filming a standing subject on a small white set

A corporate video setting affects framing, lighting, sound, and the background behind the speaker. Match each choice to the approved message and production brief.

Use the script and approved brand references to plan lighting, production audio, layout, speaker placement, and background.

Plan Lighting for the Approved Look

Run a practical test of the planned light on the speaker, wardrobe, background, and camera. Adjust exposure, contrast, and placement from the approved reference.

Select the fixtures, modifiers, and positions from the approved reference, then test the speaker, wardrobe, background, and camera before the first take. Common choices include:

  • Soft light for an open, low-contrast look
  • A defined key light for more facial contrast
  • A documented lighting plan for matching takes

Document fixture positions, modifiers, output, exposure, and white balance when several speakers or shoot days need to match.

Viva Studio Rentals has a 2,000 sq ft soundstage with an 18 ft ceiling and a grid at 13.5 ft. Four Aputure Nova P300c lights are included in the base studio package. Confirm any additional lighting and grip through Viva Camera at the fixed 25% studio-client discount.

Test Production Audio for Speech

For speech, test reflections, traffic, HVAC, equipment fans, clothing, and other room noise. Monitor each take.

Acoustic treatment manages reflections inside a room. Sound isolation addresses noise moving through the building. Ask about both and test the room.

Keep a record of dialogue quality and any pickup needs before clearing each take.

Viva’s stage is sound-treated, not soundproof. Use a Tech Scout to test the planned microphones and room conditions for speech, music, or other live audio.

Assign the Shooting and Support Areas

Designate areas for shooting, equipment, hair and makeup, waiting, review, and crew movement before load-in.

Put the equipment, talent, client, crew, and review areas on the floor plan before load-in.

  • Equipment and prop staging outside the camera path
  • Hair and makeup, wardrobe, and waiting in assigned support rooms
  • Crew paths that do not cross the active frame or cable routes

Document any movement, cable, background, or distraction problem found during the layout test.

Choose the Background

Select the background from the approved brand references and the required frame. Remove visible items that are not part of the plan.

Double-check the background for:

  • Contrast with wardrobe, products, and on-screen text
  • Approved brand colours under the planned lighting
  • Only the props listed for the setup

Approve the background only after checking it with the planned wardrobe, products, props, lighting, and frame.

Viva books one production per day, giving that production full and undivided use of the facility during the booked window. Bring any branded backgrounds, banners, props, or sets the shoot requires, and review their placement before booking.

Continuity Across Corporate Takes

Use one documented indoor setup when several speakers, versions, or pickup takes need to match.

Write down fixture positions, camera settings, eyeline, subject mark, background, and sound notes for every setup that must repeat.

Select the production date from the business schedule, crew and studio availability, and time required for shooting and post-production.

Check the Setting Against the Script

Lighting, room conditions, background, layout, and talent placement all affect a corporate video. Test dialogue and live-audio requirements before booking. The crew remains responsible for the lighting and audio plan.

Review the script, speaker, background, lighting, production audio, framing, and edit before delivery.

Test the corporate-video framing, lighting, microphones, background, and teleprompter position before the shoot. Review the Toronto studio rental.
